A couple of hikers were found early Monday, tired but unhurt, about four hours after their worried daughter reported they hadn't emerged from hiking in the Topanga State Park before nightfall, police and fire department sources said.
The 51-year-old man and 50-year-old woman had been missing since 8 p.m. Sunday in the urban wilderness south of Reseda Boulevard, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
Their daughter waited with their vehicle, which was where they left it in the morning, during the four-hour search by police and fire department air and ground units.

Temperatures dropped into the 40s as Sunday became Monday, and two Los Angeles fire department helicopters with night vision and a police helicopter with infrared systematically searched for the couple "over more than 36 miles of trails covering more than 11,000 acres of rugged terrain,'' Humphrey said. They were found at 12:06 a.m. and hoisted individually into a hovering helicopter to be reunited with their daughter, he said.
