On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a Chance to Give Back
Two local organizations are helping to feed the homeless on January 16.
On a day that celebrates and remembers the achievements of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., two local organizations are joining together to help the homeless.
and the Family of Faith Christian Center will be participating in the 3rd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday January 16. Their project this year will be to help beautify the Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission in Sun Valley. The Rescue Mission helps the hungry and the homeless of the San Fernando Valley.
Valley Beth Shalom and the Family of Faith Christian Center are looking for volunteers to help plant sustainable fruit trees and an edible 'Garden of Hope,' as well as assist with painting, sorting thrift store donations and feeding the homeless.
