UPDATE: Firefighters Douse Small Fires Along 101 Freeway in Tarzana

No structures were threatened.

UPDATE at 2 p.m.: The Los Angeles Fire Department reports firefighters have put out the small brush fires along the 101 Freeway in Tarzana.

ORIGINAL POST: Los Angeles firefighters were responding to a "string'' of fires that broke out along the eastside of the Ventura (101) Freeway Sunday.

The fires were reported about 12:30 p.m. between Lindley Avenue and Balboa Boulevard in Tarzana, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No structures were immediately threatened. A traffic crash occurred in the back-up.
