Willauer-Contributing Writer-Southwestern Junior College-El Cajon, CA: Tuesday, November 25, 2025-In a battle for the 2025 Open Division Title, things were Carlsbad's way as they took an early 16-0 lead on quarterback Eli McNeal (son of Lancers Head Football Coach Thadd MacNeill passed for 270 yards and 2 touchdown passes) connected for 27 yards to Ethan Meyerhoff ,his second pass to Travis Jeffrey on a 40 yarder. Beckham Phllippi contributed on a 37 yard field goal.

The second half was the Dons of Cathedral Catholic as scored 3 touchdowns as quarterback Brady Palmer's(251 yards and 2 interceptions) threw a 71 yard pass to Isaac Cook, Honor Faalave Johnson, rushed for 106 yards scored 2 touchdown runs of 5 yards and the game winner of 4 yards with 8 seconds left in the contest as Dons as they defeated the Lancers 20-16 to claim their 12th CIF San Diego Section Title.
