Council votes to support tribe in acquiring San Pasqual state park (times-advocate.com) — Escondido’s City Council has unanimously backed the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians’ bid to take ownership of the nearby San Pasqual Battlefield State Historic Park, about eight miles from town. The city will send a support letter to San Diego’s mayor as the tribe pursues state and city land transfers to restore, maintain, and culturally revitalize this historic 50‑acre site.
