• Details arise from deputy crash, another one in Santa Rosa Valley area (vcstar.com) — A sheriff’s deputy and a 20-year-old Fillmore woman were involved in a Dec. 9 collision at Highway 126 and B Street after investigators say the woman ran a red light. The deputy suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized, while the Fillmore driver reported pain but declined transport. A separate crash the next week in Santa Rosa Valley also injured a deputy and four others.
   

• Magnitude 2.9 Earthquake Reported in Ventura County Near Fillmore (edhat.com) — A small magnitude 2.9 earthquake struck northwest of Fillmore Monday evening, following a swarm of minor quakes in the same area last week, but no damage or injuries were reported. Officials say aftershocks may continue and urge Fillmore residents to secure their homes, review emergency plans, and know how to protect themselves during shaking. The guidance stresses staying put and taking cover rather than rushing outside.
