San Mateo County Libraries: Pick Up Free Meals For Your Family!
The program has been such a huge success that we serve up to 100 meals a day!
December 8, 2021
Since 2015, San Mateo County Libraries has been serving free meals to the public year-round at the East Palo Alto Library. The program has been such a huge success that we serve up to 100 meals a day! As a result, in 2019 we expanded our meals program to the Half Moon Bay Library. We are thrilled to resume our popular After-School Meals program at both the East Palo Alto Library and Half Moon Bay Library and to expand even further to the North Fair Oaks Library.

December 20-23 and 27-30 (Meals Service Unavailable December 24 and December 31)
Families are invited to visit the East Palo Alto Library, Half Moon Bay Library and North Fair Oaks Library to pick up Winter Meals to take home beginning at 3:30 PM Monday-Thursday during the weeks of December 20-23 and December 27-30. Meals will be provided by RevFoods on December 20-23 and by Samaritan House on December 27-30. Meal service is open to all while supplies last!
Due to holiday closures, meals service will be unavailable on December 24 and December 31.
Why do we serve meals? Libraries provide all kinds of resources that serve the needs of their communities, including access to nutritious meals. The number of meals served and overwhelming feedback from our patrons reinforces the need for this service.
The Winter Meals program is made possible with the generous support of Samaritan House, the YMCA of Silicon Valley, the Half Moon Bay Friends of the Library and Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. We hope to see you at the East Palo Alto Library, Half Moon Bay Library and North Fair Oaks Library soon!
