Edison: Cause of Downed Lines on 405 Could Take Weeks to Determine
Caltrans is also involved in the investigation of the incident, which blocked the freeway for two hours and knocked out power to 2,500 local customers.

An explanation for why power lines fell onto the 405 Freeway last Thursday could take weeks to determine, a spokesman for Southern California Edison said Wednesday.
"As you can imagine with something like this, this is a complex matter," Edison spokesman David Song said. "A lot of times, it takes weeks on these. This isn't a typical case."
The lines fell Thursday afternoon near the Magnolia Street exit in Fountain Valley, shutting down much of the freeway for about two hours. The incident also knocked out power for about 2,500 local customers until about 3:15 a.m. Friday.
