Pedestrian Fatally Hit By 2 Cars In Orange County

The crash happened at 5:34 a.m., with the first vehicle stopping to offer assistance and the second speeding off, police said.

SANTA ANA, CA — A pedestrian was fatally struck by two cars Friday in Santa Ana, authorities said.

The crash happened at 5:34 a.m. Friday on Main Street between Dyer Road and Alton Avenue, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

The woman "walked into traffic," SAPD Officer Natalie Garcia said. Her name and age were not immediately available.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver whose vehicle initially struck the woman pulled over and remained at the scene, authorities said. When a second vehicle hit her, the driver did not stop as required by law.

Around 8:20 a.m. Friday, the SAPD urged motorists to avoid Main Street between Dyer Road and Alton Avenue while police investigated the crash. The investigation was ongoing at 10:50 a.m., Garcia said.
