Five Fountain Valley Teens Earn Eagle Scout Honors
Having worked up through the Boy Scouting ranks from Tenderfoot, the newest Eagle Scouts are: Beau Barlow, Ryan Miller, Travis Schloederer, Jordan Terry, and Tanner Trounce.

Five teenage boys from Fountain Valley were honored last week when they received the rank of Eagle Scout at a ceremony held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Orange County Register reported.
Having worked up through the Boy Scouting ranks from Tenderfoot, the newest Eagle Scouts are: Beau Barlow, Ryan Miller, Travis Schloederer, Jordan Terry, and Tanner Trounce. Each of the boys, aside from Schloederer who is 16, are 18 years old.
"To reach the status of Eagle Scout, one has to learn the virtues of hard work, dedication, honesty, community and teamwork, all winning skills that will continue your success in life," Fountain Valley Mayor Mark McCurdy told the Scouts.
Each of the boys completed 21 different merit badges as well as a community service project to earn the honor.Miller, who attended Fountain Valley High School, and Terry will attend Brigham Young University-Idaho in the fall.
Trounce will soon leave for South Africa to begin his Mormon mission.
Schloeder, a baseball player for Fountain Valley High School, helped rebuild the freshman baseball dugouts for his service project.
