Los Amigos Baseball Team Set to Begin First Playoff Run Since 1983

The Lobos will host El Rancho this afternoon.

After making history two weeks ago by for the first time in the baseball program's 30-year history, Los Amigos will make history again Tuesday afternoon against El Rancho when it hosts a CIF playoff game for the first time.

"I'm really excited for the team to be in this situation," Lobos coach Art Maltby said. "They have worked hard and deserve to play in this game. It's been about 30 years since Los Amigos has been where this team is today. They are fired up and ready and the school is buzzing baseball right now. It's a great feeling and the kids are loving all the attention."

Junior Jerry Arana will take the hill for Los Amigos as the Lobos get ready to play their first CIF playoff game since 1983. In addition to the team's historic playoff berth, senior Adrian Carillo was named to the all-league first team for the Garden Grove League. Senior Gerardo Hernandez and junior Jorge Bedolla were named to the second team, and senior Isaac Zazueta received honorable mention.
