• Basketball Recap: Esperanza Drops Season-High Score on Los Alamitos (maxpreps.com) — Esperanza’s boys basketball team recently put up a season-high 73 points in a win over Los Alamitos, part of a strong stretch that includes a 61-point outing at Fountain Valley on December 8. The Aztecs have now won four of their last five to move to 7-5, while Los Alamitos has dropped two straight heading into another quick-turnaround game. 
• Hoffarth wins Trailer Figure 8 season championship: Second in overall Night of Destruction points (myvalleynews.com) — A veteran demolition racer who once lived in Fountain Valley has captured the 2025 Trailer Figure 8 season championship at Perris Auto Speedway, finishing second overall in Night of Destruction points. Now based in San Jacinto, Lane Hoffarth races alongside his three sons in a family “Minivan Mafia” team and hopes to add an overall championship during the track’s 30th anniversary season.
