2 Arrested In Fremont Hit-And-Run

BREAKING: Police said the driver and passenger of the suspect vehicle fled the area.

FREMONT, CA — Two people were arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in Fremont Wednesday at the intersection of Blacow Road and Mowry Avenue, police said. The hit-and-run happened around 10 a.m. and the driver and passenger of the suspect vehicle fled in a northbound direction, according to police.

Officers came to the scene and helped the woman whose car had been hit. She was complaining of pain, police said. A number of witnesses came forward, leading officers to one of the suspects, according to police. The suspect had taken off his shirt, police said, and was walking on the Mowry Avenue overpass at Interstate 880.

Other witnesses guided officers to the area of Farwell Drive and Troy Avenue, and there they found the second suspect, police said. The driver of the suspect vehicle was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, and the passenger of the car was arrested and booked on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, according to police. Their identities were not released.
