2 Fremont Firefighters Deploy To Florida
The firefighters are part of a California task force assisting in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.
FREMONT, CA — Two Fremont Fire Department firefighters, identified as T. Bender and E. Scott, deployed to Florida last week with a CA-Task Force.
Some three dozen team members were sent to Florida to assist with urban search and rescue in the destruction following landfall of Hurricane Milton.
The task force flew to Atlanta, and then traveled on to Florida to receive their assignments.
According to Florida officials, more than 1,600 people had been rescued from floodwaters, rubble and other hazards.
The death toll has risen to at least 23.
