Alleged Carjacker Faces 5 Felony Charges In Alameda County

Prosecutors allege the man forcefully stole a woman's car from a parking lot and ran her over when she attempted to stop him.

FREMONT, CA — A 21-year-old man accused of carjacking a woman's vehicle and running her over in a Fremont parking lot has been charged with five felonies, according to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors allege George Green forcefully took the victim's car on Nov. 8 and struck her while he was on release from a previous crime. Police said the woman was returning to her vehicle when she saw the suspect in her driver's seat. When she attempted to prevent him from driving away, police said the woman fell and was partially run over. Her car was later found in another city.

The DA's office filed charges in the case last week, including for carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon, leaving the scene of an accident, unlawful driving or taking a vehicle and receiving stolen property.
