Car Stolen In Fremont Recovered In Oakland

Two people were arrested in connection with the case.

FREMONT, CA — A car stolen from Fremont was recovered in Oakland last Wednesday, as San Leandro Police investigated a different vehicle burglary. The gray Lexus was recovered just a few hours after it was reported stolen.

SLPD officers responded at 10:30 a.m. last Wednesday to a report of a stolen work truck and attached trailer. While one officer conducted the preliminary investigation, detectives from the Property Crimes/Crime Suppression Unit began canvassing for the stolen vehicle.

A detective located the stolen work truck, without the trailer, in Oakland. Surveillance was conducted while additional officers responded. While watching the stolen truck, a detective noticed a gray Lexus sedan arrive and park in front of it. The Lexus had been reported stolen from Fremont a few hours earlier.

Two occupants from the Lexus began accessing the stolen work truck. Patrol units and other detectives arrived and detained the suspects

The missing trailer was located several blocks away, with approximately $30,000 worth of tools still on it.
