Body Of Missing Child Ellie Lorenzo Found Saturday Morning

FREMONT, CA — The body 3-year-old Ellie Lorenzo, who was reported missing to Fremont Police on Friday, was found early Saturday morning in San Jose, Fremont Police confirmed.

"Our department is saddened to learn Ellie has not survived," Police Chief Sean Washington said in a written statement. "Our hearts are heavy for Ellie’s family, and we will continue to support them during this difficult time."

Ellie was last seen at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Casa Arroyo Apartments, affordable housing apartments, on Rancho Arroyo Parkway in Fremont. The child's mother filed a missing person report on Friday after being informed that the child's father had been found dead in a neighboring city.

The circumstances of both deaths have not been disclosed by police. The homicide investigation is being led by San Jose Police.

"I want to thank all the members of our department and allied agencies who worked tirelessly throughout the night to try to bring Ellie home safely," Washington's statement concluded. "On behalf of our department and community, please keep everyone impacted by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers.”
