Crime Log: Man Arrested with Switchblade at Elementary School Campus; Two Arrested for Child Endangerment at Pizza Parlor

The following is a summary of significant crime and incidents reported in Fremont between Dec. 17 and Dec. 19 as released by the Fremont Police Department. Blotter reports were not released for Dec. 13-16.

MONDAY, DEC. 17

Two arrested on drug charges inside condemned home

A 40-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were arrested after police investigated a report of people living inside a condemned house in the 37700 block of Blacow Road. Officers found the two under the influence of meth and arrested them on drug charges. The woman was also arrested on suspicion of forgery.

Two arrested for child endangerment at Bronco Billy’s

A 37-year-old man and 36-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and drug charges after a concerned citizen saw the pair with two young juveniles at a local pizza parlor. The citizen was concerned for the children’s safety and alerted authorities. Officers responded to the Bronco Billy’s Pizza in Niles and found the adults to be under the influence of methamphetamine. The man also had meth in his possession, according to the police reports. Both adults were arrested and the children were placed in protective custody.

Hit-and-run near Automall

A driver of a white and blue Ford truck did a hit-and-run near Fremont Boulevard and Automall Parkway. The victim complained about pain but did not sustain serious injuries. The driver was last seen traveling eastbound on Automall Parkway. 

TUESDAY, DEC. 18

Man arrested with switchblade at Oliveira Elementary School

A man was arrested on weapon possession charges while loitering afterhours at a local elementary school. Officers patrolling the area of Oliveira Elementary School saw a group of three men between the ages of 18 and 20 drinking alcohol at a bench near the back of campus around 7 p.m. All three were arrested on suspicion of being minors in possession of alcohol on school property. One of the men also had a switchblade in his possession and was arrested on a weapons charge. There was no threat to students or school employees, according to the report.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 19

Two arrested for making criminal threats, burglary and vandalism at Mission Peak Lodge

Two men were arrested on various charges after officers followed up on reports of a woman screaming in the street near Mission Peak Lodge. Officers responded to the area and arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a meth pipe. A 33-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats, burglary and vandalism.

Runaway juvenile arrested while shoplifting

A runaway juvenile was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from the Nordstrom Rack on Christy Street. Police responded to the theft report and learned she was a runaway from Oakland with an outstanding juvenile warrant.

Drunk driver arrested in vehicle rollover

A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol after a rollover collision near Coco Palm Drive and Banyan Tree Road. One party was injured during the incident.
