Stolen Vehicle Found

Police found a 1994 Honda that was reported stolen out of Newark on Sept. 24.
Man Attempts to Flee From Police After Traffic Stop
A man was arrested after a police attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Police said when they stopped a vehicle, one of the two men who were inside of the car ran out. Officers found him hiding in a bush and arrested him on suspicion of resisting arrest.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 3
Trio Attempts to Potentially Burglarize Home
Police are looking for a pair of men after a Fremont resident called police and told authorities that a suspect rang the doorbell of an Acoma Court home and then tried to enter the resident’s backyard. The suspects, however, fled after police said they were scared off by the resident. The suspects were described as two men in their 20s who are possibly Hispanic. One was last seen wearing a red hoodie, while the other suspect was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket or something similar.
THURSDAY, OCT. 4
Two Men Found Passed Out on Streets
Police were called to check on two men who were passed out on public streets in two separate incidents. The first man was found on Fremont Boulevard near Papazian Way on a sidewalk. The second man was found on Mowry Avenue near Farewell Drive. Both men were arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.
Man Arrested After Trying To Strike Woman With Car
A man was arrested after police were called to Warm Springs Boulevard and Warren Avenue to a report of an assault. Authorities said they learned a man was using a vehicle as a weapon against a woman who he was fighting with. Police were able to find the man who had fled in his damaged vehicle in the area of Club Sport and he was arrested.
More Than 300 Pounds of Stolen Copper Wire Found
Police were called to Motel 6 South after a contractor called for electric wiring. Police found about four large bundles of copper wire that was taken from a freeway electric box. Authorities said the copper wire totaled more than 300 pounds.
FRIDAY, OCT. 5
Woman Dies After Solo-Bicycle Accident
A woman died after a solo-bicycle accident that occurred around 6:48 a.m. Police were called to the 41600 block of Osgood Road and found the 51-year-old woman unconscious. She suffered major head injuries and later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities identified her as Feng Ying Yu, 51, of Fremont.
Gas Leak on Christy Street
Fremont police assisted Fremont Fire after a gas leak was reported on the 41000 block of Christy Street. Authorities said a construction crew damaged a gas line, resulting in a need for traffic control. No evacuations were ordered, but traffic control was in effect for about five hours while PG&E crews were on scene to fix the leak
Lockdown at Fame Charter School After Bogus Armed Man Report
Police responded to Fame Charter School on Kearney Street after someone called to report tat a person had a gun. Police said that the caller sounded young and that when they arrived, they learned that staff members believed students had plans to “do something to shut down the school.” Still, police locked down the school but did not find any evidenced that an armed person was on campus. Students were warned to not pull pranks in the future.
Homeless Man Protests Armrest Installation on Benches
A 44-year-old homeless man was arrested after police were called when the man refused to allow a park maintenance employee to install armrests on a park bench at Bill Ball Plaza in Centerville. Police said the homeless man said he was allowed to sleep on the benches and would protest the armrest installation. He was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace.
SATURDAY, OCT. 6
Man Injures Self in Car Crash, Gets Arrested for DUI
Police arrested a man after passers-by reported that an injury accident just occurred on Blacow Road near Roberts Avenue around 9:30 a.m. The driver walked away into a home nearby and when police arrived they said the man seemed to be under the influence of alcohol. The man was treated at a local hospital for injuries and he was cited on suspicion of drunken driving.
Man Arrested After Beating Puppy
Police were called to Walgreens on Warm Springs Boulevard after witnesses reported that a man was beating a puppy. The dog’s owner admitted to responding officers that he had the dog with an object. Police said the dog was transported to a veterinarian hospital and treated for moderate injuries, and the 22-year-old Milpitas man was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty.
Woman Punches Window During Argument
A woman was treated by Fremont Fire after police were called to Charter Square to investigate a fight. Police said the woman was arguing with an unknown male and then proceeded to punch a window, shattering glaas.
Police Assist in Neighboring City Shooting
Officers responded to Washington Hospital after a victim arrived with a .45 round to the chest. Fremont police secured the victim and the victim’s vehicle until officers from the outside agency arrived. Fremont police confirmed that the shooting occurred in Union City. Union City police said the man was shot outside of Taco Bell on the 32000 block of Alvarado Boulevard. No suspects have been arrested.
SUNDAY, OCT. 7
Man Assaults Jail Supervisor
A 39-year-old man who was arrested and booked into Fremont Jail on suspicion of possession of meth pipe on Saturday night assaulted a jail supervisor at 5:30 a.m. Police responded to the detention facility and transported the man to Santa Rita Jail.
Two Detained After Crashing a Stolen Vehicle
Police responded to a car accident on Puttenham Way after two of the vehicle’s occupants fled toward the creek, carrying skateboards. Police were able to locate the men after setting a perimeter along the creek and detained the two and the driver still had the key to the stolen vehicle when police detained them. They were arrested.
Stolen Car Torched
Police assisted in the investigation of a stolen car that was dumped then set on fire at Dumbarton Circle.
