Deadly Crash, Threatened Kidnapping And More In Alameda County
Here is a week in review from the local police department.

FREMONT, CA — A traffic collision resulted in the death of one person, a man threatened to kidnap kids at a thrift store, a car crashed into a restaurant and more occurred May 20 to May 26 in Fremont, police said.
Police said, after a foot pursuit, they arrested a man who stole a phone from a department store May 20 on the 39200 block of Fremont Boulevard.
A driver died after they drove on the wrong side of the road and collided with a parked semi-truck trailer May 21 near the area of Fremont Boulevard and Decoto Road, police said.

Police said they arrested an individual for driving drunk, crashing their car into a restaurant May 23 on Warm Springs Boulevard, and fleeing the scene. That same day, officers arrested a suspect for stealing items worth $600 from a department store on the 39200 block of Fremont Boulevard, police said.
Officers arrested a woman for hitting her ex-boyfriend several times with a bottle opener May 24, police said.

On May 25, police said they arrested a registered sex offender after he was at a thrift store on the 41200 block of Blacow Road yelling, attempting to touch kids, threatening to strike people with a baseball bat, threatening to kidnap a kid and then fled on foot to a local high school. Also on May 25, police said they arrested a suspect after two roommates got into an argument and one stole the other’s gun. Additionally, on May 25, officers said they arrested a man stealing packages and ripping up plants from residences near Router Common and Wisdom Road.
Police said they arrested a man May 26 on Chadbourne Drive who drove to his girlfriend’s work, beat her up, threatened to kill her and broke her phone.
From May 20 to May 26, the FPD said they received 1,965 calls for service, filed 185 police reports, gave out 22 traffic tickets, reported 34 traffic collisions, and made 39 arrests.
