Developer Buys 40.5 Acres, Plans 700,000-Sq.-Ft. Business Park

The new development will be called The Crossings @ 880 and will be building along Dixing Landing Road.

A Los Angeles developer has big plans — about 700,00-sq.-ft. worth — for Fremont.   Overton Moore Properties recently purchased 40.5 acres of land in south Fremont along Dixon Landing Road at Interstate 880.

The property will be situated along 3,600 feet of freeway frontage.

OMP acquired the property for $8.15 million, according to a press release from the developer.

Known as The Crossings @ 880, the development will be broken into three industrial buildings totaling 700,000-sq.-ft.

The Crossings will be a business park targeting Silicon Valley companies. It boasts prominent visibility with more than 168,000 traffic counts a day, according to a press release.

Each of the three buildings will range from 175,000 to 315,000 square feet with clear story glass around the buildings, attractive storefronts, mature landscapes, loading docks and ample parking, among other amenities.

The development will “address the growing need for advanced manufacturing facilities for both domestic expansion and the re-shoring of current overseas functions,” said Rob Shannon, executive leasing agent for the project.

"This land acquisition is a unique opportunity that surfaces once every ten years.  The location, size of parcel and freeway access is tremendous and we are very excited to re-enter the Fremont market," Timur Tecimer, president of OMP, stated.

Construction will begin in August, with the project expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2014.
