Update: Power Restored After Fire Knocks Out Traffic Lights

The outage has impacted lights in central Fremont.

Power has been restored after a fire caused an outage Tuesday morning, knocking out traffic signal lights at several major intersections in Fremont.

Fremont police said a transformer was found on fire around 7 a.m. on the 40400 block of Eaton Court, which caused an outage at the following intersections:

  • Stevenson Blvd. at Davis St.
  • Grimmer Blvd. at Fremont Bl.
  • Washington Blvd. at Luzon Dr.
  • Fremont Blvd. at Blacow Rd.
  • Fremont Blvd. at Sundale Dr.
  • Five Corners (Fremont Blvd./Washington Blvd./Bay St.
  • Washington Blvd. at Paseo Padre Pkwy

Power was restored by 8 a.m., according to Geneva Bosques, spokeswoman for the Fremont Police Department.
