Flood Warning Issued For Alameda Creek
The National Weather Service issued the warning shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday.
FREMONT, CA — The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for Alameda Creek shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday.
The weather service reports that flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Automated rain gauges show that between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen in the last 6 hours. The creek is expected to continue to rise because of runoff.
At this time, the flood warning is expected to be lifted at 5:15 p.m.

The weather service also reminds drivers to turn around, don't drown when encountering water on the road. "Most flood deaths occur in vehicles."
"Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely."
