Fremont Earns High Marks In Niche Report

Fremont is one of the Bay Area cities earning top grades for schools, family-friendliness, outdoor activities, nightlife, and weather.

FREMONT, CA — Niche.com is a data company that provides insight into neighborhoods and schools throughout the United States. So how does Fremont fare overall?

Fremont was ranked No. 436 (out of 6,805 cities) in the “Best Suburbs for Young Professionals in America” category; No. 951 (out of 6,797 cities) in the “Suburbs with the Best Public Schools in America” category; and No. 1,335 (out of 6,804) in the “Best Suburbs to Live in America” category.

Niche also has “Report Cards” for cities that are based on multiple factors. They feature letter grades ranging from A+ to F, much like school report cards. Fremont received an A as its “Overall Niche Grade.” In the “subjects” of public schools, good for families, outdoor activities, nightlife, weather, and health & fitness, it earned an A-range grade. For “jobs,” “commute,” and “diversity,” it received a B+. Other grades include three Cs (C+ for crime & safety; C for housing and C- for cost of living). Notably, Fremont's "cost of living" grade is higher than other Bay Area cities, such as Berkeley and Alameda, which both received a D+.

Niche, in line with its motto, “Find where you belong,” centers on “connect[ing] people to their future schools and neighborhoods” via its comprehensive data. For analyses, Niche pulls from dozens of public data sources and “over 100 million reviews and survey responses from students, parents and residents” to give people detailed information about a city's infrastructure and offerings.

To find out more about a certain location, all one has to do is type in a city name or zip code in the “Find” bar and then type in the specific region, such as the San Francisco Bay Area, in the “In” bar. From there, a city’s rankings and grades are available to peruse.
