Fremont Murder Suspect Tracked To Richmond, Arrested: Police
The suspect was charged by the District Attorney's Office with murder and other crimes.

FREMONT, CA — A suspect wanted for a March 5 murder in Fremont was tracked to Richmond and arrested on March 13, according to the Fremont Police Department. Sylvester Carver, 25, of Fremont, was booked into Santa Rita Jail and has been charged by the District Attorney's Office with murder and other crimes.
The victim was shot at 9:45 a.m. in the area of Stevenson Boulevard and Albrae Street. Police investigators found a vehicle that appeared to be involved in an accident and the driver was suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim died on March 9.
A vehicle had fled the scene of the shooting. Police identified the suspect as Carver and obtained an arrest warrant.
"Special Operations Division and Crime Reduction Unit members worked tirelessly to locate Carver," police report. "On March 13, 2024, the investigation led detectives to the 5000 block of Hartnett Avenue in Richmond, California. Carver was positively identified coming out of a known associate’s residence. The Fremont Police Department’s Special Response Team responded to the location to serve the arrest warrant for Carver and the search warrant for the residence."
Carver was taken into custody without incident.
The District Attorney’s Office charged Carver with Penal Code 187(a) - Murder, Penal Code 664/187(a) - Attempted murder, and two counts of Penal Code 246 - Willful discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
