The Fremont Police Department recommends drivers and trick-or-treaters keep the following tips in mind:

  • Stay alert and slow down when crossing streets or near driveways.
  • Trick-or-treat before it gets dark outside.
  • Watch out for drivers, as they may not see as clearly in the dark.
  • Using glowsticks, flashlights or reflective gear to make it easier for drivers to spot you.
  • Make eye contacts with drivers.

"Just because you can see them, doesn't mean they can see you," police said. "Let's keep Halloween fun and safe for everyone."
