Fremont REI Store To Close Permanently: Report

FREMONT, CA — REI plans to permanently close its Fremont store, according to a report on SF Gate.

The store is expected to close in mid-January.

"The operating costs of the store – payroll, building and property maintenance and care – unmet sales growth, a less-than-ideal location for customers, and more mean that the location is no longer a good fit," a spokesperson told SF Gate.

The store, at 43962 Fremont Blvd., will be stocked for the holidays.
