Fremont Teen Who Died Following Crash Identified

The boy was riding his bike on the 4th of July when he was hit by a car.

FREMONT, CA — A 15-year-old boy who died of injuries after he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle on the 4th of July has been identified. He was Fremont resident Victor Aleksander Campos, according to the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau.

Officers responded to the collision about 9:30 p.m. July 4 at Hansen Avenue and Dutra Way, police said.

The teen was hospitalized. Police were informed later that he had died.

The driver, a 23-year-old Fremont man, stayed at the scene after the crash and cooperated with investigators. Police do not believe that the driver was impaired and don't anticipate making any arrests.
