Man Found Injured at BART Was Not Attacked

A man found severely injured at the Fremont BART station on Feb. 13 suffered from a medical emergency, according to media reports.

A 52-year-old Hayward man found with life-threatening injuries outside of the Fremont BART station last month was not a crime victim, according to media reports.

Instead, the man experienced an undisclosed medical emergency that caused him to fall and experience blunt force trauma to the head, the Fremont Argus reported last week.

According to BART police, a BART employee found the man suffering from critical head trauma just outside of the paid area of the station at 3:20 a.m. on Feb. 13. He was transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to the UC Davis trauma center.
