Man Told Fremont Police Wife's Killing Was Necessary Due To Declining Health: Report (patch.com) — Fremont residents are learning more about a tragic weekend shooting in which 93-year-old resident Richard Hocking allegedly killed his 86-year-old wife in a car on Mowry Avenue, then turned himself in to police. Investigators say he admitted planning the act for over a month and cited her declining health, and he now faces a murder charge with a firearm enhancement from Alameda County prosecutors. 
2. Authorities ID Cyclist Killed In Fremont Crash (patch.com) — People in Fremont are mourning 69-year-old resident Danny Chiu, identified as the cyclist killed in a collision with a semi-truck on Osgood Road Friday afternoon. Police say drugs and alcohol are not suspected, and investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information to contact the Fremont Police Department Traffic Unit.
