Update: Two Arrested in Mission Valley Neighborhood Home Burglaries

The suspects, 18 and 19 year old males, are Fremont residents from the Mission San Jose area, according to police.

Two men were arrested Thursday afternoon after attempting to break into a home in the Mission Valley neighborhood.

According to the Fremont Police Department, officers responded to the 4000 block of Via San Miguel near Palm Avenue around 4 p.m. on a report of two masked men trying to break into a home.

Arriving officers spotted the suspects walking along the creek trail. After seeing the officers, the suspects jumped fences and fled through back yards.

Officers set up a perimeter and eventually located the suspects -- 18 and 19 year old males from the Mission San Jose neighborhood -- hiding in a back yard on Corte Santa Ines.

According to police, had a backpack containing masks and burglary tools. 

They were arrested on suspicion of attempted residential burglary, possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest.
