'Suspicious Device' Found Wednesday By Fremont Workers Secured Through Controlled Detonation, Police Say

Officers who responded to the scene called the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit.

FREMONT, CA — Fremont's Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit used a controlled detonation to secure a suspicious device in the area of Westinghouse Drive Wednesday, police said. Workers in the area located the suspicious device and called police around 10:24 a.m., police said.

Officers who responded to the scene then called the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit. The disposal team used a controlled detonation to secure the device and also collected a spent device nearby for further
examination, according to police.
