This Week: Free Bollywood Concert, American High School 40-Year Celebration

Find out events going on in Fremont this week.

Heads up! Here are five things going on this week that you should know about:

  • Does your child need help with homework? Drop by the Fremont Library's Homework Help Center Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The center is staffed by high school students and intended for children in grades K-6. For more information, contact the library's children's information desk at 510-745-1421.
  • Looking for a job? Then attend the Fremont Main Library's Link to Jobs workshop series. This week's workshop, held Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., will focus on networking. Registration is required, so email grooshan@aclibrary.org or call 510-745-1440.
  • Celebrate 40 years of education at American High School. Starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, the special anniversary event will feature a dedication ceremony, band and cheer performances, door prizes and merchandise for sale, including past years' yearbooks. Click here to find out how to RSVP.
  • Also on Saturday, enjoy a free Bollywood music and dance concert at the library courtesy of local ensemble Jhankar Live. The performance starts at 2 p.m. with free tickets available starting at 1:30 p.m.
  • Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation will hold its annual Top Hat fundraising dinner on Saturday. The money will support construction of the 'operating room of the future' at Washington Hospital and the purchase of BrainSuite, a high-tech imaging system to assist surgeons. The event runs from 6 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $250 per person. For more info, click here.
