This Week: Free Business Seminar, Youth Theater Tryouts, Storytime for Walking Babies

Also this week: a free solar energy forum and a support group for domestic violence victims.

Heads up! Here are five things going on this week that you should know about:

  • Domestic violence affects more people than you think. If you're a victim, you don't have to live in fear — Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments is here to help. Drop in at Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. and Fridays from 9:15 to 11 a.m. SAVE's meetings provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for victims to talk about their experiences and heal. The groups are moderated by trained counselors who provide experience. The meetings are open to women currently experience abuse as well as those who have experienced it in the past.
  • Learn at a free seminar held Thursday at the Fremont Chamber of Commerce from noon to 1 p.m. The seminar will be led by Kiruku Designs who will provide tips and advice on how to build more visibility for your business. The seminar is part of the local Chamber's monthly Business Building Forums series.
  • Also part of the Chamber's Business Building series is a the , to be held Thursday at 5 p.m. Led by Horizon Energy, the workshop will educate business owners on the benefits of going solar. For more info and to register for the event, .
  • Is your child ready for the stage? StarStruck Youth Performing Arts is holding on Thursday and Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at their studio, located at 42307 Osgood Rd. Unit L. Auditions will also be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Children must be 10 or older to tryout.
  • Bring your toddler to the every Saturday from noon to 12:20 p.m. Each weekend, the Library holds its free . The event features songs, finger play games, bouncing and more. No registration is required.
