This Week: Longest Night Service; Coupon Clippers Meet and Swap

Heads up! Here are five things going on this week that you should know about:

  • No one likes a litter bug! That's why Bay Area nonprofit Be the Street is challenging creative teens and young adults to make a 15-30 second video to help prevent littering. Teens ages 14-17 and adults 18-24 can compete for a $1,000 with the winning video airing on TV. The deadline to submit your videos is Jan. 7. For more info, click here.
  • Stupid smart phone got you feeling not-so-smart? Then visit the Fremont Library every Monday at 1:30 p.m. Staff will be on hand for their weekly Computer and Gadget Help session to help you with email, computer questions and electronic gadgets such as cell phones, digital cameras, and more.
  • Business women in the Tri-City area are invited to join the and dinner this Wednesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at 39900 Balentine Dr. in Newark. The monthly meetings, held every third Wednesday, aims to provide opportunities, strengthen connections, friendships and community partnerships. The meeting/dinner costs $25.   • Whether you're an extreme couponer or just looking to save some money to get through the holiday season, the Panera at 2650 Mowry Ave. is the place to be Wednesday. The East Bay Coupon Clippers will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for their monthly coupon swap.
  • On Friday, Niles Discovery Church will hold a special Longest Night Service from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The meditative service is open to anyone seeking a place of solace during the hectic holidays. The church is located at 255 H St.
