  • Learn about human trafficking and sexual exploitation at a special forum hosted by the Leage of Women Voters on Monday at 7 p.m. at Palmdale Estates Auditorium. Featured speaker Sister Carlitas Foster will explain how to recognize human trafficking globally and how it impacts us locally here in the Bay Area.
  • Looking for a job? Then attend the Fremont Main Library's Link to Jobs workshop series. This week's workshop, held Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., will focus on "Hidden Jobs vs. Advertised Jobs." Registration is required, so email grooshan@aclibrary.org or call 510-745-1440.
  • Celebrate 50 years of education at Oliveira Elementary School this week. Starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, the special anniversary event will feature speeches, student performances, food sales and much more. For more information, click here.
  • Help save lives and register to be a donor in the National Bone Marrow Registry any time this Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to noon at St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 33350 Peace Terrace. According to the Asian American Donor Program, the national registry is in need of Asian American donors. This Sunday's drive is for 2-year-old Jeremy Kong from San Francisco.
  • Help fight against pancreatic cancer by participating in the Geck Trek, a 2K fun run/walk and BBQ to be held this Sunday at Quarry Lakes Regional Park. Starting at 10 a.m., the event includes the scenic run along with a kids zone, silent auction and post-run barbecue. To register or learn more about the event, click here.
