Driver Suffers Major Injuries After Car Hits Tree

The driver is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

A driver of a vehicle that struck a tree suffered major injuries Sunday afternoon after hitting the tree at Ardenwood Boulevard and Kaiser Drive in Fremont, according to Fremont police.

The vehicle was traveling south on Ardenwood around 3:56 p.m. when it lost control and collided with a large tree southwest of the intersection with Kaiser, police said.

The driver's side door area struck the tree, causing major damage to the vehicle and major injuries for the driver, police said.

The driver was taken to a trauma hospital with life threatening injuries, and has yet to be identified.

The crash remains under investigation.
