Upcoming Fremont Events Center On Student Support

Events include community meetings about special education services and autism and a disability resource fair.

FREMONT, CA — Three upcoming events support students with disabilities and neurodivergences and their families, the Fremont Unified School District announced Thursday.

The first of these events is "Meet & Greet Your Special Education Directors," an interactive virtual session happening Monday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. It's an opportunity to learn how special education services are structured in the Tri-City area (Fremont, Newark and Union City) and connect with families, educators and others in the community. Attendees will hear about upcoming events on the 2025-2026 calendar and can ask questions and share ideas during the session.

The Fremont Police Department is hosting a “Community Meeting on Autism” on Friday, August 29 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the founders of Joshua’s Gift, an organization that supports autistic individuals and their families, and learn about Fremont PD’s partnering with Joshua’s Gift to further autism awareness and acceptance. Autism-related training will also be offered at this event, which takes place at the Downtown Event Center, 3500 Capitol Ave., Fremont.
