Man Stabbed in Chest with Screwdriver in Road Rage Incident

A man sustained non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed in the chest with a screwdriver Tuesday night. The crime was fueled by road rage, police said.  The incident was reported at around 5:55 p.m. in the area of Mission and Warm Springs boulevards. Both the suspect and victim pulled into a 76 gas station following a road rage argument. That’s when the suspect approached the victim, who was sitting in the driver’s seat of his car, and stabbed him in the chest. 

The suspect fled the area prior to officers’ arrival and remained on the lam until he arrested was Friday afternoon. Police arrested 30-year-old Bryant Salazar of San Jose at about 2:30 p.m. in the area of Capitol/Ocala in San Jose.

Road Rage Killer Sentenced to 7 Years in Prison

A Livermore man was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in prison for fatally stabbing a Fremont resident in a road-rage fueled slaying in 2011, according to the Bay Area News GroupCort Holbrook, who claimed he was acting in self-defense when he stabbed Ricky Ziesmer on March 9, 2011, was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter and convicted on March 14 of this year. On Tuesday, Alameda County Superior Court Judge Kevin Murphy sentenced Holbrook to seven years in prison, with two years credit for the time he has already served.
