Young Fremont Carjacking Suspects Arrested In Oakland

Police allege two juveniles drove a stolen vehicle to a Fremont apartment complex where they shoved a woman and stole her car.

FREMONT, CA — Two juveniles are accused of pushing a woman down, stealing her car and fleeing from police across multiple jurisdictions, according to Fremont authorities.

Investigators said the woman called 911 on April 2 to report a carjacking at 4:45 p.m. at an address on Stevenson Boulevard. Officers noticed a car parked nearby with its engine running and determined it had been reported stolen. Detectives believe the suspects drove the stolen car to the scene of the carjacking.

Officers from Hayward and Oakland spotted the carjacked vehicle a short time later, and a helicopter from the Alameda County Sheriff's Office helped track the car as it moved through Oakland, police said. The air unit reported seeing two people running from the vehicle, and they were later taken into custody by officers on the ground.
