Man Suspected in San Dimas Robbery Arrested in Duarte

A 19-year-old man allegedly robbed several convenience stores with a baseball bat across the San Gabriel Valley.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 19-year-old man in Duarte who is suspected of committing several baseball bat robberies across the San Gabriel Valley, including one at a 7-Eleven store in San Dimas.

The suspect, whose name is being withheld pending investigation, was initially booked in connection with a robbery in East Pasadena. Authorities are looking into his possible involvement with several other similar robberies, all committed within hours of each other.

Those robberies include stores in San Dimas, Monrovia, Arcadia, West Covina and unincorporated Pasadena.

The San Dimas robbery occurred shortly after midnight at 660 E. Foothill Blvd., according to the Sheriff’s San Dimas station.  A masked robber with a baseball bat ordered the clerk to open the cash register. The robber left the store with $200, according to officials.

This is the third incident in a month for the San Dimas 7-Eleven, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. The store had been hit by a previous armed robbery May 14 and on Sunday, a car smashed through the front window. For more on these incidents, click here.
