City Looks to Fill Open Board, Committee Positions
17 vacancies on various city committees will open this June.

The city of Glendora is looking for 17 individuals to fill vacancies on eight city boards and committees.
The vacancies will be effective June 30, 2012.

Beautification Committee: 1 Vacancy: Office No. 4 (3-year term). This Committee shall act in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters and means to promote encourage and recognize efforts and investments to beautify the visual and architectural image of the City and community. This Committee meets on a quarterly basis.
BID Advisory Board: 3 Vacancies: Office No(s). 1, 2 & 3 (3-year term). Members of the BID Advisory Board must operate bona fide businesses located within the District and that are subject to charges and assessments imposed by Section 5.40 of the Glendora Municipal Code during their entire term of service. Members must be current with the payment of charges and assessments imposed. This Committee meets on the first Thursday of month.

Board of Library Trustees: 2 Vacancies: Office No(s). 4 & 5 (3-year term). This Board provides strategic leadership and serves as the creative catalyst for developing and implementing the mission, values and vision of the Glendora Public Library. This Board meets on the third Monday of each month.
Community Services Commission: 2 Vacancies: Office No(s). 3 & 5 (3-year term). This Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council and Director of Community Services in all matters pertaining to the park maintenance, park development, recreation programs, human services, and community beautification. This Commission meets on the third Thursday of each month.
Historic Preservation Committee: 2 Vacancies: Office No(s). 4 & 5 (3-year term). This Committee provides identification, protection, enhancement, perpetuation and use of improvements and areas within the City that reflect special elements of historical, architectural, archaeological, cultural or aesthetic heritage. This Committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
Investment Advisory Committee: 2 Vacancies: Office No(s). 1 & 2 (3-year term). This Committee serves as an advisory panel to provide input to the City Treasurer on the holdings of the City’s investment portfolio and related reports, policies and procedures. This Committee meets on a quarterly basis.
Planning Commission: 1 Vacancy: Office No. 4 (4-year term). This Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council on land-use policy planning matters which guide the future development of the City. This Commission meets on the first and third Tuesdays each month.
Trails Committee: 4 Vacancies: Office No(s). 3, 7, 8 & 9 (3-year term). This Committee serves as an advisory body to the Community Services Commission, recommending policy and procedures governing trail issues in Glendora. This Committee meets on the last Monday of each month.
For all committees but Trails Committee members, members may not serve more than two consecutive terms. All board and committee members must reside in city limits, except Beautification Committee members who may be licensed business owners of the city.
Applications are available at City Hall in the Office of the City Clerk, 116 E. Foothill Boulevard, Glendora, Calif., Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., except holidays, or may be downloaded from the City’s web site: http://www.ci.glendora.ca.us.
Completed application forms must be filed with the City Clerk no later than 5 p.m. on May 1, 2012, in order to be considered for appointment to these positions.
