Elementary School Scientists Honored in Competition

Students from Glendora Unified's five elementary schools compete for honors in a science competition.

Budding scientists in Glendora Unified’s five elementary schools competed in a jeopardy-style science competition May 16, garnering several awards and accolades.

It was the third year for this event in which each school’s 5th graders vied for one of three spots on their school’s team.

These 5th graders spend their year preparing for the California State Standards Test in Science. Many of the teams hold practice sessions during recesses and after school to encourage students to do their best on the test. Each school then holds a site competition to determine their bowl players. The result is 18 of the district’s best elementary science students.
