Man Receives One Year in Jail For Battering Father

A 51-year-old man was convicted in the beating of his wheelchair-bound father in November 2011.

A 51-year old man was sentenced to one year in jail for battering his own 74-year-old wheelchair-bound father, according to published reports.

Jane Robison, spokeswoman for the District’s Attorney’s Office, confirmed to the San Gabriel alley Tribune that Marty McKinney 51, was convicted Friday at a Pomona Superior Courthouse of misdemeanor elder abuse. McKinney was convicted of hitting his father several times in the face in an incident in the 700 block of S. Pennsylvania Ave., Nov. 13, 2011. McKinney’s father sustained several facial injuries, including a swollen eye.

According to Glendora Police reports, McKinney had been drinking and struck his father following a domestic dispute.
