This Weekend in Glendora: Farmer’s Market and Concerts in the Park

1. Check out Glendora’s Concerts in the Park featuring the Raymond Michael , who covers Elvis Presley songs, Sunday, Aug. 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Bandshell area in Finkbiner Park. For more information, call (626) 914-2357.

2. Have you been to Glendora’s Farmers Market yet? The Glendora Farmers Market debuted May 11 and will continue every Saturday until Sept. 28.

3. There will be an Eat, Shop & Swap event Saturday, Aug. 10 at 9:30 a.m. at Grace of Calvary Lutheran Church, 804 E. Foothill Blvd. There will be a variety of food vendors and merchants, as well as an opportunity to swap items. Click here for details.

4. Supporters rallied in front of St. Lucy’s Priory Thursday, demanding that the school reinstate fired teacher Ken Bencomo. Bencomo, who is gay, was fired after photos of his wedding ceremony to his partner were published in a newspaper. Read our coverage of the protest here.

5. A man made up a story that he had been attacked and stabbed by a group of men, even inflicting a stabbing wound to himself, according to Glendora Police.
