Healdsburg Chorus 'Comin' Home' For Spring Concert

The show includes a piece by Dutch composer Nico Philipp Hovius who will be on hand. Advance ticket purchase is recommended.

HEALDSBURG, CA — The Healdsburg Chorus is "Comin’ Home" this spring at the Raven Performing Arts Theater in downtown Healdsburg and invites the community to share that comfortable feeling through its upcoming concert repertoire.

The group's spring concerts are planned for 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27. Tickets are $20 each and advance purchase is recommended, as both the December concerts sold out fast.

"Home is a different thing to different people, but it’s an anchor during tumultuous times," said David Martin, music director. "It helps keep us grounded, and we welcome the community to share our anchor: Music!"

This season's concert repertoire includes "There’s Gonna Be a Homecomin’," "Homeward Bound," "Unclouded Day", "The Road Home," "Old Joe Clark," "Arise Beloved," "Crowded Table," "Take Me Home," "Perhaps We Only Leave," "Home" and "I’ll Be On My Way." In addition to chorus pianist Beth Benjamin, local musicians will again accompany the chorus on most songs.

A concert highlight is the world premiere of "Perhaps We Only Leave," a piece Dutch composer Nico Philipp Hovius wrote specifically for the chorus. Hovius is coming to Healdsburg to attend both concerts.
