Now, today's weather:
Mostly sunny and hot. High: 95 Low: 55.
Here are the top three stories in Healdsburg today:
- Healdsburg winery, Mauritson Farms Inc., has reached a settlement with the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board (ALRB) to pay $328,077 in lost wages to 21 agricultural workers. The settlement comes after the workers filed an unfair labor practice complaint with ALRB, alleging various issues, including lack of proper facilities, work hours, and mistreatment by their foreman. The complaint stated that the workers were not rehired in retaliation for raising these concerns, leading to discrimination allegations. ALRB will hold a press conference in Healdsburg on Monday to discuss the resolution with representatives from labor and community groups in attendance. (Bay City News)
- The City of Healdsburg is teaming up with the Voigt Family Sculpture Foundation and acclaimed sculptor Ned Kahn to enhance the Foss Creek Pathway with public art installations. Renowned for his environmentally-themed works, Ned Kahn's sculptures have adorned various prominent locations worldwide, highlighting invisible aspects of nature like the sky and wind. One of his new sculptures will find its place on the back wall of E&M's building along the Pathway, adding artistic flair to the urban landscape. (Healdsburg Mayor Ariel Kelley via Facebook)
- In nearby Santa Rosa, police are on the hunt for multiple suspects involved in break-ins at two cannabis dispensaries. During the early hours of Sunday morning, the perpetrators used a vehicle to ram into the entrance of the first dispensary but were thwarted by a second interior door. Shortly after, they successfully stole merchandise from another dispensary and led officers on a high-speed chase, involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Authorities are now urging the public to come forward with any information that may help identify the suspects. (CBS News)
