The City, which had previously announced limitations on in-person services from December 29, 2021 to January 10, 2022, decided to extend the limitations until at least January 18, 2022 because of the continuing increase in COVID-19 cases caused by the highly infectious Omicron variant.

The public can continue to attend Hermosa Beach City Council and Hermosa Beach City School District Board meetings in-person or participate online or via phone. The Council is scheduled to meet Tuesday night. The School Board, which meets in City Council Chambers, is scheduled to meet on Wednesday night.

Hermosa Beach Police Department, Public Works Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department will continue to provide services in person. Outdoor areas, including parks, playgrounds, restrooms and sports courts, will continue to be open to the public.

The City’s other services will continue to be available by phone or online. If an in-person meeting is needed, City staff can arrange to meet a member of the public in front of City Hall. Several L.A. County cities – including the neighboring cities of Manhattan Beach and El Segundo – have also limited their in-person services to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
