Council to Meet at Hermosa View

The panel will discuss a safe-route-to-school program at the school and proposed community garden among other items in a meeting Tuesday night.

Instead of meeting at City Hall, the Hermosa Beach City Council on Tuesday will convene at  on Prospect Avenue, where it will discuss a proposed safe-route-to-school project for View students.

The city has been approved to receive state grant funding for improvements to the school that will improve safety and promote walking or cycling to school.

Hermosa Beach police Chief Greg Savelli will give a report on the issue of public urination downtown and its negative side effects in the community.

Four electric vehicle-charging stations have been proposed to be installed around town—three along the northerly side of Pier Avenue and one at City Hall. Council members will discuss the suggestion.

The council will review the to consider beginning Phase 1 of the South Park Master Plan and allow space for a proposed community garden.
