Hermosa Beach Adding Three More Beach Tennis Courts

HERMOSA BEACH, CA -- The Hermosa Beach City Council has approved the installation of three beach tennis courts north of the pier, the Beach Reporter reported

The decision last Thursday was unanimous. The three courts will join the existing courts on 15th street. Council members did not have an issue with adding the courts but were concerns about the noise. To mitigate the noise the concerns, the City Council asked for the courts to be move as far away from the Strand as possible without impacting lifeguards operations, according to the Beach Reporter.

“I think it has a place in our community and I think it deserves the extra room it needs,” Councilman Jeff Duclos said.
